Iconography:

International Repertory of Musical Iconography (RIdIM):  (UK National Section), a database of portraits of composers and performers, illustrations of instruments, occasions of music-making, and the use of musical imagery maintained for purposes of metaphorical or allegorical allusion, cataloguing of source materials and engaging in research on music iconography, has centers in most countries of Europe and in North America, all of which liaison with RIdIM headquarters at the Research Center for Music Iconography, City University of New York. The UK section is affiliated also with the recently-established Association Européenne des Centres de Documentation en Iconographie Musicale, a European sub-section of RIdIM.
