For more than 30 years, documentary filmmaker Les Blank has delighted audiences with insightful and charming films about food, music, dance and filmmaking. “Burden of Dreams,” Blank’s film about Werner Herzog making “Fitzcarraldo” in the jungles of South America, is considered one of the finest accounts of movie-making. Blank’s films about Lousiana, in particular, have halped Americans in the rest of the country celebrate the richness of Cajun culture.
