The Music of Films

Using clips from classic films such as North by Northwest and 2001: A Space Odyssey, David will discuss the basic functions of film music, the theory behind it, and the process that brings it to the screen.

David Bondelevitch, MPSE, CAS works as a freelance music & dialogue editor and re-recording mixer. His most recent major projects have been the independent feature film The Six Wives of Henry Lefay, starring Tim Allen and the Lifetime series State of Mind, starring Lily Taylor. David won an Emmy in 2000 for Sound Editing on the movie The Hunley. He has also won MPSE Golden Reel Awards for his work on the musical Ruby’s and the Imax documentary film Island of the Sharks. He has been nominated for Golden Reel Awards twenty-one times.
