Frank Jermance, Music business
Frank Jermance is Acting Chair
and Associate Professor of Music Management and Jazz Guitar at the Music & Entertainment
Industry Studies Department at UC Denver. He holds graduate degrees in
both Music Merchandising and Business, and has worked in Telecommunications,
as a talent agent, and as a contractor. He is in demand as a freelance
guitarist, and has performed with a variety of Broadway shows and with prominent name artists. As an author, his articles have appeared in Recording Magazine,
Mix Magazine and Guitar Player Magazine. He contributed two chapters
to the The Music Business: Career Opportunities and Self-Defense by
Dick Weissman, published by Three Rivers/Random House Publishers. In
2003, he co-wrote, (with Dick Weissman), Navigating the Music Industry: Current
Issues and Business Models, which was published by Hal Leonard
Publishers. Professor Jermance also served as Interim Dean for
the College, from 2003-2005 and Associate Dean from 1999-2003 and again from 2005-2007.
