Artist Biography

Baugh Road by Mary Connelly

Born in 1961, Mary K. Connelly was raised in Belleville, New Jersey. Graduating with a BFA in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis in 1983, she received her MFA in Painting at Indiana University in Bloomington in 2000. The artist’s work has won numerous awards--highlights include “Best in Show” in the 10th International Open, 2007 at the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago and “Juror’s Award for Painting” selected by San Francisco gallery owner Paule Anglim at the 23rd Annual National Juried Exhibition, 2006 at the Berkeley Art Center in Berkeley, California. Future solo exhibitions include the Charleston Heights Art Center in Las Vegas, Nevada in October and the Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka, California in January 2009. The artist currently resides in Denver and is an Assistant Professor and Area Head of Painting and Drawing at the University of Colorado Denver.
