Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Film and Television Degree
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree allows students to explore multiple aspects of theater, film, and television with fewer credits required in the major. This degree plan may be appropriate for students transferring from another program who cannot devote the time necessitated by the for the BFA degree plan, or for students who wish to pursue general elective courses in areas outside of theater and film. The BA degree is structured with anchor courses during each year, but allows students to structure their major elective courses to a specific area of study or to select a more general curriculum by structuring their major electives from a variety of theatre/film disciplines.
Education for Future Professionals
Students complete the 22 credits of Theatre, Film, and Television foundation courses and then select an emphasis and complete all 51 listed credits within that emphasis area. Foundation courses include: Production/Post Production, Scriptwriting, Performance Visualization, Scenery Lab, Costume Lab, Camera Equipment Lab, and Technology and Acting Lab. All major courses must be completed with a C (2.0) or better.
You won’t have to go far to gain valuable experience in your field. Budding theatre students have their own Theatre Buffs Club. TheatreBuffs provides self-directed theatrical opportunities to the students of the Auraria Campus.
